Man held for killing woman

Bagalur police have arrested a youth who allegedly set a woman ablaze early last month.

On March 6, Ganesh, a driver, and Rukmini, a neighbour, had an altercation over a loan.

Ganesh threw petrol on Rukmini through the window while she was sleeping, and set her on fire. She died of burns on March 31.

Rukmini had borrowed Rs 20,000 from Ganesh. When he asked her to return the money, she allegedly insulted him in front of his friends.

In revenge, Ganesh, who is said to have had an affair with Rukmini, decided to kill her.
