Pressure up

Demonstrations and rallies were organised across the state even on Wednesday. While a group of Jagan Yuva Sena continued its hunger strike at Adoni for the fourth day, a party MLA Rajaiah from Warangal has threatened to immolate himself.

Tuesday’s massive condolence meeting in Kadapa passed a resolution moved by YSR’s brother Vivekananda Reddy that Jagan should be made the CM. Also, the state unit of the Congress-affiliated NSUI on Wednesday adopted two unanimous resolutions — appointing Jagan as CM and conferment of Bharat Ratna on YSR.

Even if the hasty orchestrating of support for Jagan has offended the high command, it has served its purpose: that Jagan cannot be ignored in whatever decision is to be taken considering he has a majority of CLP members with him.
