Member of Legislative Assembly V Muniyappa promised the protesting residents of Idludu and Marutinagar that the MSIL will not open its liquor shop in their area.

On Monday, he met the residents who were protesting against the MSIL opening its outlet in their areas, since five days. The residents, especially women, had demanded that the licence granted to the MSIL to open the shop there, should be cancelled as majority of the workers and daily wage labourers live here. Allowing the shop here would destroy the poor families, they said. The protesters had not attended to work since five days.

Legislator directed MSIL officer Srinivas Reddy and Excise Inspector Ramesh to identify another land to shift the shop.
