However, the Bangalore Rural District SP Mahesh was tight-lipped about the investigation.  CID officials also refused to reveal any progress made in the investigation so far.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa convened a meeting with top police officials in the City to review the situation. He instructed the police to provide security at all religious places and directed them to take steps to prevent such incidents in future. He wanted them to sternly deal with elements involved in such incidents, City police commissioner Shankar Bidari told Deccan Herald.

Archbishop apprehensive

The Archbishop of Bangalore, Bernard Moras expressed his reservations over the effectiveness of  the probe since the previous inquiry started more than a year ago and was nowhere near completion.

Speaking to the Minister for Minority Welfare, Haj and Wakf, Mumtaz Ali Khan, who visited him on Saturday evening, the Archbishop asked: “How can the Government instill confidence in the Christian community if the inquiries take so long? We have no results whatsoever still from the inquiries (Justice B K Somashekar Commission of Inquiry) into the church attacks last year.” The Archbishop further stated that the Christian community had been very calm in the face of so much injustice.

The minister sought to allay the fears of the Christian community and assured that he would press for an urgent and speedy inquiry into the attacks.

DG & IG Ajai Kumar Singh had also called on the Archbishop on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations has strongly condemned the attack on the church. Chairman Ronald Colaco said that Christians had become very vulnerable and the community needed protection. The Federation is planning to take out a procession in all the taluks and district and will submit memorandum to the concerned tahsildar and Deputy Commissioner.
