Four arrested for assaulting Bajrang Dal leader

Bajrang Dal Madikeri Convener Nanda Kumar alias Ganesh was fatally attacked by a group of six youth who arrived at his residence on Wednesday night, at Udayagiri near Makkandur.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, DySP J D Prakash said that the assaulters have been identified as Khaleel, Javed, Hameed, Junaid, all residents of Ganapathi Beedi and Ukkada.

Meanwhile, the victim was admitted to the district hospital for immediate treatment and was later shifted to a private hospital in Mysore for advanced treatment. He has been kept in Intensive Care Unit as his condition is said to be critical.

Following the incident, Madikeri Bajrang Dal Unit had staged a stir demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. The members of the Dal staged stir at General Thimmaiah circle, on Thursday. The protesters withdrew the stir only after the DySP promised to nab the culprits.
