Woman, kids found dead

The bodies of a woman and her twin children were found in a water tank, here, on Sunday midnight.

Police have identified the dead as Pavithra Satya, 30, and her six-year-old children Harshith and Harshitha.  Suspecting dowry harassment, Mandya West Police have arrested Pavithra’s husband M S Satya and his mother Vijayalakshmi, based on a complaint by Pavithra’s parents.  

The relatives of Pavithra staged a protest on Monday, demanding the arrest of the accused members of the family. They stopped the police from handing over the body for post mortem, in spite of repeated requests from DySP Chennabasavanna.

The police were forced to arrest them, after which the body was taken for further investigation.
