JOIN USTwo cousins who were close to each other and could not live separately committed suicide by jumping into a well, at Karmala in Puttur on Monday.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Sharanya (21) and her cousin Ramya (24).
Sharanya was a resident of Karmala and was the six semester student of electronics engineering at Vivekananda College. Ramya, a resident of Kudroli in Mangalore and was studying computer course after completing the PUC.
In fact, Ramya had been to Karmala on Sunday. Her mother had asked to come home on Tuesday.
Puttur police have registered the case.
House burgled
Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into a house and decamped with cash, seven pawan gold and a mobile phone, at Kakkur in Puttur taluk in the wee hours of Monday.
According to police, the house belongs to one Venkatramana Bhat.
A group of seven miscreants with lethal weapons had entered the house and decamped with the booty. The miscreants had covered their face and were speaking in Tulu, Malayalam and Kannada.
