Convocation for Carmelites

Stepping Stone

Hats Off: Students of Mount Carmel Institute of Management celebrate.

Albert Tauro, Chairman and MD of Vijaya Bank, while addressing the gathering, called upon the students to dream big and translate those dreams into reality. The students ought to plan, strategise and execute the same and give shape and meaning to their actions. He observed that attitude towards work, commitment, passion and one’s involvement in every aspect is necessary if one desires to excel.

He emphasised that there was no substitute for hard work and highlighted the importance of diligence, honesty, integrity and ethics, for these cannot be compromised. He stressed the importance of interpersonal relationships and said that challenges like failure and disappointment should never leave one frustrated.

On the whole, one must have a positive attitude towards life and retain the spark which should be nurtured and developed, he said. Sr Albina, Principal Mount Carmel University stated that everyone has a unique role to play. Everything depends on what you have done and not on what you are and what you leave behind is 'what matters'. She later congratulated the outgoing graduates.

The outgoing students were awarded the certificate of PGDBA and the toppers were given away prizes and medals. Suraksha Srivatsa won five medals and eight awards. Sujata Agarwal stood second, Priti Mahawar stood third, B R Meghana bagged the fourth rank and Preeti C was ranked fifth.
