K N Purushotham who is serving as a teacher at Government higher primary school of Gamanahalli involves lessons of mental and intellectual development for students along with routine academics.

He is successful in including various techniques to keep the attention of his students undiverted. His speciality of effective teaching is that he starts any lesson with models of paper or thermocol, drawings related to his lessons which would arrest the interests of students. Citing related examples, he makes the students concentrate on lessons.
Purushotham even teaches yoga, meditation to his pupils. Apart from academics, his interaction with students is warm. Students also have equal respect and love for their teacher who educates them in all aspects of life and at same time entertains them.
Purushotham besides being a teacher, holds a film diploma and also writes poems.
He is honoured with ‘best teacher award’ in 2003 by education department, ‘Dasara poet award’ by Mysore Hoysala Kannada Sangha, ‘BMSri Kavya Puraskara’ by Mandya District Youth Writers Association and many other awards from all over State.
