MP N Chaluvarayaswamy advised youth to become self-employed or join private companies and not wait for government jobs. He told them to be self-confident when they search for jobs.

Speaking at the inauguration of a job mela at Sir M Visvesvaraya Stadium here on Saturday, he said after completing studies, students should immediately start searching for jobs and don’t be disheartened if they do not get employed in their dream companies.

“Several youth take to crime when they are unemployed and vested interests try to use them. Youths should beware of such people,” he added.

Observing that the onus was on the youngsters to build the society, he urged them to serve the society by being sincere in work.

MLC Marithibbegowda said job melas should be held in district and taluk centres regularly as more number of youngsters would get jobs.

Private companies should be established in district and taluk centres to prevent migration of rural youth to urban areas, he said.

MLA M Srinivas, MLC B Ramakrishna, deputy commissioner B N Krishnaiah, zilla panchayat president Suresh, ZP CEO P C Jayanna, JD(S) district unit president D Ramesh, H P Manjula and convenor D B Rukmangada were present.
