JOIN US The Wakf Property Bachao Andolana Samiti said on Thursday that it would initiate a campaign urging the government to accept a report prepared by the State Minorities Commission and take appropriate action against encroached properties.
Office-bearers of the Samiti accused Muslim leaders of failing to protect property belonging to the Board.
“The worth of wakf properties located in prime urban areas and adjoining highways in the State is approximately Rs 2.50 lakh crore or more,” they said.
Income from these properties is enough for educational upliftment, socio-economic upliftment, employment and access to medical treatment for the entire Muslim community, according to the Samiti.
The organisation added that it was necessary that people of the community are educated about such properties and their rights, which will be the focus of the Wakf Bachao Inqalab Zindabad campaign.
