JOIN USIt was a refreshing start for freshers of the first semester degree courses of Bishop Cotton Academy Of Professional Management (BCAPM). The college opened its doors recently to the fresh batch of young men and women who portrayed confidence and a sense of discipline coupled with anxiety and happiness to begin their new journey with BCAPM.
The programme began with an invocation song, which was followed by a welcome speech and presentation by old Cottonians Swetha Y A and Shwetha R. The lamp-lighting ceremony was initiated by the principal of BCAPM, Ranji Jacob John, accompanied by the senior students who were members of the student union council in the previous year.
The faculty, management and students put in their best efforts to introduce the new students to the college. The newcomers were briefed about the college history, its culture and discipline right at the start.
Addressing the students, the principal pointed out that the institution has a history of great men and women, who had passed out of the portals of the institution. He spoke about the never-ending learning spirit that is imbibed in every Cottonian to face the brave new challenging world with their grit and might. The principal also emphasised about the uncompromising sense of discipline and high standard of the academy. Finally, he stressed the importance of striking a balance between academics and extracurricular activities.
The day was packed with entertaining events, which were displayed by a group of talented seniors.
The event began with dance performances, conveying a message of culture and tradition. The show continued with a classic song recital by Pooja S, a student of BCA second year.
To add to the action, freshers were given a platform to exhibit their intuitional talents and skills through an ice-breaker activity, which led to the crowning of ‘Queen Fresher’ title to Greeshma M B, a student of BCA first year.
