Employer beats worker to death

Factory owner, three accomplices absconding

After being bashed up by owner and his three associates with iron rods on suspicion of stealing from their factory, a youth was killed while his minor colleague injured at Nand Nagri in north-east Delhi, police said.

On Thursday evening, Rohit, 17, and Shankar, 22, were loitering at block E in Nand Nagri, where they reside, when a man named Faiyyaz met them and asked them to accompany him to meet Sonu, said a senior police officer.

They went to meet Sonu, who then asked Faiyyaz to leave.

Next, he called Praveen Goel, who owns the coal godown along with his father. Praveen and Sonu then took the two victims to the factory at block B 1.

They accused the victims of stealing from the factory and they deserved to be punished.

“Before the victims could react, Praveen and Sonu along with Praveen’s father attacked the victims with iron rods. They brutally bashed them up following which the duo fell unconscious” said the officer.

When they gained consciousness, they found themselves in Sundar Nagri Park.

“They somehow managed to contact their parents following which they were rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where Shankar succumbed to his injuries. Rohit is recuperating at the hospital” said the officer.

Police have registered a case against the accused based on Rohit’s statement.
All four of them are absconding.
