Monsoon lash parts of North, South; 9 killed in Hyderabad

Parts of North and South India witnessed light to moderate showers as eight persons were killed in rain-related incidents in Hyderabad.

Delhi recorded a maximum of 36.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal and a minimum of 28.6 deg C, two notches above the normal.

The humidity level oscillated between 55 to 81 per cent, as no rainfall was recorded in the national capital today.

Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh were lashed by rains during the last 24 hours as monsoon held its forte in the region.

Rest of the state witnessed a weak monsoon.

Sultanpur recorded highest rainfall of 15 cm, followed by Bilgram 5 cm and Akbarpur, Gonda, Elgin bridge, Lucknow and Amethi 3 cm each, Met sources said.

Normal life was thrown out of gear in Hyderabad due to 15.2 cms of rain since last evening.

A woman and her three children were killed when a wall collapsed on them in Miyapur area of Hyderabad. While, in a similar incident at Balanagar industrial area, five more persons were killed.
Parts of Rajasthan also got intermittent rains keeping temperature near normal.

Light to moderate rainfall was witnessed in Jaipur, Bharatput, Kota and Bikaner devisions.
Palamu got 25.1 mm rain while Kota had a 3 mm rainfal
