Smiling, crying, dancing, sleeping dolls. Dolls of all kinds, all sizes and all colours. The colourful array of dolls arranged in a very attractive manner can steal your attention for quite some time.
These dolls remind us the mythological characters from the Mahabharatha and Ramayana and history. With the support of Seethamma Venkataswamy, she has been installed Dasara dolls in her house for the last 35 years.
Pooja is offered to these dolls daily and sweets are distributed to the children and women. Some of the dolls include Rama Lakshmana, Dashavathara, Shivaji, Sri Krishna, Buddha, Ishwara, Gandhi, Vivekananda, Ravindranath Tagore, Thiruvalluvar. The dolls are removed after Vijayadashami.
Srinivas said “I get satisfaction and peace of mind after installing dolls. The tradition of installing dolls have remained till this day owing to the support given by my family.”
