<p>Heavy rain continued to batter Udupi district on Friday and floods in Udyavara, Brahmavar and Padubidri in Udupi district has thrown normal life out of gear. However, the rains has receded in Dakshina Kannada.</p>.<p><br />A few villages have been inundated in Udupi district. Five families in Karthibail of Havanje in Brahmavar and 13 families in Aroor and Belmar have been evacuated by the fire department personnel.</p>.<p><br />Aroor, Belmar, Kanchinabuda, Balkudru, Ramanakudru, Heroor, Heranje, Jansalebettu and Havanje regions have been facing severe floods. </p>.<p><br />With the increase in water-level in Madisalu river, water has started flowing above the hanging bridge which provides connectivity to Uppoor to Uggelbettu in Brahmavar. Udupi taluk has received highest rainfall of 153.4 mm followed by Karkala—122.6 mm. </p>.<p><br />Chikmagalur<br />Heavy rain lashed Sringeri taluk on Friday. With water overflowing on Thorehadlu-Thyavana and Karubugere road, the movement of vehicles has been disrupted. Kerekatte in Sringeri received highest rainfall of 234.6 mm.<br /></p>
