Prajavani Assistant Editor Dinesh Amin Mattu has been selected for the “D Devaraj Urs Award” on the occasion of the 97th birth anniversary of the former chief minister.
The award, instituted by the State government, carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh and citation. A selection committee comprising litterateur Chandrashekar Kambar shortlisted the candidates for the award.
Other persons/ organisations who have been selected for the award in recognition of excellence in their respective fields are: Vishwakarma Ratha Shilpa Kala Sangha, Bangalore; Sri Sharadha Vidya Samsthe, Chitradurga; Narasamma of Tumkur; Bhimarao B Gasti and Kashinath B Hudeda, Bagalkot; Vajra Kumar B Kivade and Basavanappa M Gounalli of Jewargi, Gulbarga district and Dhanbandu Samsthe, Chamarajnagar, Mysore district.
Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar will present the awards at a function in Banquet Hall, Vidhana Soudha at 11 am on August 20.
