Jumbo menu provides 'fuel' for ministers' Chintan Baithak

The much discussed ‘Chintan Baithak’ by BJP ministers began at Suttur, a small hamlet about 28 kms away from Mysore, on Tuesday.

The rich fare on the menu may even force the ministers to look forward for short breaks, lunch and dinners than actually concentrating on the sessions.
While cornflakes with milk, dry fruits, honey, bread sandwich, coffee, tea, milk for breakfast, green salad for lunch, soups and fruits for dinner were regular items on all three days, the ministers feasted on other dishes too. 

On day one, the ministers were served with spicy idly, onion chutney, butter, kesari bath and uddina vade. Kodubale, juice, butter milk and coffee tea filled a short break at 11.45 am. Lunch was salads, sweet corn kosumbari, mixed vegetable curry, ragi roti, beans curry, hucchellu chutney, sasive chitranna, tur dal chutney, potato bonda, rice, horse gram curry, ghee, rasam, curds, rosogulla and fruits. Two short breaks have been scheduled at 3 and 4 pm. Evening snacks included puffed rice with onion seasoning, with beverages. Dinner at 8.30 pm comprised veg corn soup, roasted masala papad, green salad, baby corn kosumbari, butter naan, butter paneer gravy, palak curry, ghee rice, coconut chutney, rice, sandige, sambar, rasam, kajjaya, ghee and fruits.

The ministers will be served with bed coffee/tea at 6 am. Breakfast at 8.15 am includes uppupuli dose, coconut chutney, set dose, carrot halva, coffee/tea etc, along with the usual fare of cornflakes with milk, bread sandwich, dry fruits etc. Herbal juice, butter milk, nippattu, tea/coffee would be provided to them at 10.30 am. Then they head to lunch at 12.45 with saladm green gram kosumbari, pineapple gojju, akki roti, ennegaayi, kadale huli, special puliyogare, tur dal chutney, rice, butter milk, sambar, rasam, curds, anjur burfi and fruits. After a brief tea/coffee break at 2.45, they will be served with kaddi khara (also known as ghaati), Dharwad paper avalakki along with beverages at 4 pm.
Starting with sweet corn soup for dinner at 8.30, the ministers can tuck in roasted masala papad, salad, baby corn dry manchurian, methi roti, avarekaalu kurma, veg fried rice and sauce, baby onion sambar, rice, curds, special mysore pak and fruits.

On the last day, bed coffee will be followed by breakfast served at 8 am sharp. Items include sandwich, cornflakes, dry fruits etc with green gram dosa, coconut chutney, veg noodles, sauce, dum rot, tea/coffee etc. Lemon juice will be served with a variation of salt/pepper with hot beverages. Chakkuli coupled with coffee/tea arrives at 11.30 am. Lunch starts a little late when compared to other days at 1 pm with salad, mixed usuli, bhendi fry, black grapes gojju, channa bhatura, nimbe chitranna, ragi mudde, uppu-saaru, khara, rice, huli, tovve, rasam, curds, bele obbattu, ghee, gasagase payasa, fruits etc. Tea/coffee comes in at 3pm. Again Menasinakaayi and balekaayi bajji are served along with tea/coffee.

Dinner on the last day is at 8.30 pm with cream soup, roasted masala papad, green salad, kadale bele kosumbari, parota, kurma, heralekaayi chitranna, rice, horse gram curry, ghee, bamboo shoot curry, rasam, curds, along with fruits, fruit burfi and hesaru bele payasa.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who participated in the Chintan Baithak, kept media at arm’s length when the members tried asking him his opinion on the event. He did not answer to any of the questions posed by the media. The baithak has been organised by state BJP unit with the Chief Minister, ministers and prominent RSS leaders participating in it.
