Yuki crushes Huang; sets up clash with Kim

The Indian Davis Cupper, seeded fifth, thrashed Huang 6-4, 6-1 to set up a last eight clash with his doubles partner Young-Jim Kim of Korea at Bengal Tennis Association Complex.

Continuing his winning momentum, Yuki paired with Kim to stun third-seeded duo of Rupesh Roy and Vivek Shokeen 6-3, 6-4 in the doubles quarterfinals.

Third seed Vishnu Vardhan also made the last eight after defeating Vijayant Malik 6-3, 6-4. Vardhan will take on local favourite Rupesh Roy who struggled past Vignesh Peranamallur Chandrasekhar 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Seventh seed Rohan Gajjar survived a scare from qualifier Mithun Murali. In a marathon lasting 181 minutes, Gajjar won 6-2, 6-7(4-7), 6-4 to book a quarterfinal date with top-seeded Daniel King Turner of New Zealand.

The Kiwi also had a tough outing when he was stretched by N Vijay Sundar Prashanth. Daniel took 114 minutes to beat Prashanth in three sets 6-0, 2-6, 6-3.
Second seed Alexander Satschko of Germany beat Abhijeet Tiwary 6-3, 6-2 to take on Yannick Nelord of India in quarters. Nelord beat qualifier Christopher Marquis 6-3, 6-4.
