A recent survey by the Assocham has given the “indifferent” bosses plenty to ponder over.

People quit jobs or even switch careers “fed up with their present bosses” rather than looking for better employment opportunities, states the survey.

Around 70 per cent of the 2,500 executives from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune and Dehradun, who participated in the survey, said employees who quit jobs complain about indifferent attitude of their bosses or immediate supervisor. Over 60 per cent of the respondents said their bosses were abusive.

The survey further stated that most of the respondents switch over to other organisations because of “management, supervisors and the general work environment of the company.”
While a majority of the participants believed good work environment was more important than salary, around 50 per cent of the respondents said working under a bad boss leads to drop in motivation level and productivity.
