Four persons, including a businessman, have been arrested for alleged involvement in three separate incidents of rape in the Capital.

A businessman has been arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl known to him in south-east Delhi’s Okhla.

Mehandi Hassan, 29, of Tehkhand village in Okhla Industrial Area Phase II was held after the victim approached police on October 11.

She told police that she knew Mehandi’s wife and had been visiting their house.

“She claimed that in March, Mehandi gave her a glass of water laced with sedatives after which she fell unconscious. He then allegedly raped her,” said Ajay Chaudhry, additional commissioner of police (south-east).

Mehandi also threatened her of dire consequences when she gained consciousness. “Thereafter, he managed to coerce and rape her several times,” Chaudhry added.

Mehandi, who runs a travel ticketing business — Hasee Bee — at Bharat Nagar in New Friends Colony, fled to Malaysia in September after his wife found out that he had raped the 13-year-old.

“We apprehended him as soon as he returned from Malaysia on October 15,” Chaudhry said.

A case under section 376 (rape) and 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) of the Indian Penal Code has been lodged against Mehandi with Okhla Industrial Area police station.
Mehandi hails from Madhya Pradesh and holds a diploma in mechanical engineering. He married Chinese national Leo in 2006 but divorced her in 2008. He then married another woman who works as a secretary in his company.

21-year-old nabbed

A man was arrested for allegedly raping and taking obscene pictures of his 16-year-old neighbour in east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar after kidnapping her with two of his accomplices.

It is alleged that Nirale Miya, 21, and his accomplices used to blackmail the victim. “Nirale was arrested on Friday in Hasanpur  following a probe into the statement of the minor girl,” a police official said.

The incident came to light after the victim informed her mother about Nirale’s activities.
Her mother then approached Madhu Vihar police station and lodged a complaint. The charges are of rape, kidnapping, extortion and wrongful restraint under sections 376, 366A, 384 and 341 of the Indian Penal Code.

Two held for gang rape

Two men have been arrested for gang raping a girl in east Delhi’s Farsh Bazar.
The victim alleged that accused Vikas, 21, and Umesh, 26, both residents of Bhajanpura, along with three of their accomplices had kidnapped and gang raped her.

She narrated the ordeal to her parents on October 3 after which they approached police.
“Vikas and Umesh were arrested on Friday, while the other three accused are absconding,” another official said.

A case of rape and kidnapping has been lodged with Farsh Bazar police station.
