<p> A quarrel over a petty issue between brothers led to death of one of them Monday night.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Srinivas, 22, a resident of Sane Guruvanahalli in Basaveshwarnagar is the dead. The police have arrested Naveen, 32, on the charge of murder.<br /><br />The brothers stayed together in a joint family. While Naveen was married and had two children, Srinivas was a bachelor.<br /><br />A quarrel broke out when Srinivas changed a television programme watched by Naveen. Srinivas did not oblige when Naveen asked him to revert the channel. An irritated Naveen attacked Srinivas with a knife. <br /><br />Chased by Naveen, Srinivas, who sustained injuries on his thighs, rushed out of the house. While running downstairs, Srinivas fell down and suffered severe injuries, the police said.<br /><br />Though Balraj, a neighbour, immediately took Srinivas to a hospital, he failed to respond to the treatment and died.<br /><br />Cop held for drunken brawl<br /><br />The Basavanagudi traffic police arrested a police constable for drunken and reckless driving causing an accident Tuesday night. <br /><br />Devarajan, a police constable attached to ninth battalion of the Karnataka State Reserve Police, is the arrested. <br /><br />His SUV allegedly hit a car near the Bull Temple junction. When Muniraju, a social worker and driver of the car, demanded that he pay for the damage caused to the car, Devarajan allegedly abused him. <br /><br />Muniraju alerted some TV channels which began airing the spat between him and the constable. The traffic police rushed to the spot and took Devarajan into custody. <br />After medical reports confirmed that he was drunk, the police registered a case of drunken and reckless driving against him. <br /><br />Devarajan was released on bail Wednesday morning. A senior traffic police said the RTO has been asked to suspend his driving licence. <br /><br /></p>
