The Kannada Sangarsha Samithi will organise a State-level folk songs contest, in memory of folklorist Dr S K Karim Khan, at Kannada Sahitya Parishat in Bangalore on October 31.
Entry is not open to well known singers and those who have taken part in programmes aired on All India Radio and Doordarshan.
The contest will be held under two categories - one for those aged below 15, and another for 15 and above, said a press release.
