Youths robbed on State highway

A group of five youths from Bangalore, who were returning to the City after visiting Dharmasthala, were robbed of their valuables near Hagare on Hassan-Belur State Highway late on Sunday night.

Miscreants, who had been following the car in which the youths had been travelling, stopped the youths near Hagare forest on the pretext of asking  them for directions to Kunigal.

The youths asked the men to follow their vehicle as they were headed for Bangalore. But the thugs brandished knives and robbed the men of gold chains, bracelets, three mobile phones and Rs two thousand in cash. The youths registered a complaint at the Halebid police station.
