JOIN USGandhian activist Anna Hazare was back in the national capital on Tuesday determined to piece together his national movement which was left in limbo after Arvind Kejriwal decided to enter politics.
He said a national level trust will be formed to run the movement. Hazare joined a protest in front of Madhya Pradesh Bhavan to demand release of Medha Patkar, who has been arrested in Chhindwara for her agitation against a dam on Pench river.
Anna would start a nationwide tour on January 13 which would commence from Bihar.
The Gandhian had a series of meetings after his arrival last evening with members of dissolved Core Committee of India Against Corruption including Kiran Bedi, Arvind Gaur, Rakesh Rafik and Sunita Godara.
He also addressed a meeting of volunteers. Anna supporters claimed that Justice Santosh Hegde will also support the movement.
Hazare has formed a co-ordination committee which will start working next week. It is scheduled to meet on November 10,” said a source.
“We will soon form a national level trust and announce its name. We are in the process of making a co-ordination committee which will have two representatives from each state. Working Committee will also be formed,” he told media-persons.
The main focus of the movement would be Janlokpal and decentralization of power, Hazare asserted. Anna also discussed plans to train volunteers at Ralegan Siddhi.
Anna was to inaugurate the office of his movement in east Delhi. However, he disapproved the place selected for the purpose. “We have identified few more locations and will decide it soon,” Godara told Deccan Herald.
Anna joined a protest against the arrest of Medha Patkar. Along with Bhupendra Singh Rawat and Arvind Gaur, he met the Resident Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh government and submitted a memorandum to demand release of Medha Patkar and Dr Sunilam.
