The State Government has given full powers to the district administration to initiate action against those involved in illegal sand mining.

Bogus ration cards

The Minister said as per an estimate there are 17 lakh bogus ration cards in the state. Bogus ration card holders have not come forward to seek fresh cards with bio-metric details. Those needing ration cards can apply with necessary documents.

He said out of 56,000 ration cards, 50,746 ration cards have been printed to be distributed in Chikmagalur district.

As many as 8,107 ration cards have already been distributed.

On automated billing system not being implemented in petrol bunks, the Minister said that officials from Weights and Measures Department are looking into the issue.
To a query on joining the KJP, he said that he was a BJP worker.

“Yeddyurappa will remain in the BJP even in the future also. We want him to continue in the BJP. We have faith in him,” he said.
