Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar announced on Thursday that the Home department would be brought under ‘Sakaala,’ the scheme that guarantees timely delivery of services.
Addressing a press conference, he said Uttara Kannada district stood first in Karnataka in the implementation of the ‘Sakaala’ scheme.
Reacting to the statement of Union Finance Minister that the State government had not sent any proposal to the Centre with regard to the share in the waiver of farm loans, Shettar said he had personally met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and submitted the proposal in this regard to him. The chief minister said he had requested for steps to be taken to waive farm loans taken from nationalised banks.
