<p>A man, trying to escape a blaze that broke out in a 15-storey building in Pakistan's port city Karachi, died when he jumped from the eighth floor, officials said.<br /></p>.<p>The fire engulfed the eighth floor in the State Life building on Zaibunnisa Street in Sadar area, Dawn reported. The blaze was later tamed by firefighters.<br /><br />Many people were reportedly stuck in the building. Chief Fire Officer Ehtashamuddin told Geo News several people were pulled out of the building and a major loss was prevented.<br />One person, however, jumped from the building in order to escape the fire. He succumbed to his wounds at a hospital.</p>
