21 police dept services under Sakaala

The State government has included 11 more services from the police department under Sakaala scheme taking the total to 21 services, from November 1. The major citizen centric services are:

Issue of FIR copy, licence for amplified sound system, licence for amusement, permission for peaceful assembly and procession, NoC for residential permit extension, receipt and disposal of petition, no obligation to return to India certificate, passport verification, service verification, NoC for petrol pump, gas agency, hotel, etc, issue of arms licence and renewal verification, missing report of documents, mobile phones, etc, criminal antecedent verification for domestic servants/housekeeping, for setting up institutions/companies, marriage registration, training/apprenticeship at public sector undertakings, coolie /loader/class IV security staff/supervisor at sensitive locations like airport, etc, criminal antecedent verification for central/state government employment if request is received directly by the employee, police clearance certificate for going abroad (visa for studies) police clearance certificate for foreign nationals, certification of the fingerprint and no objection to return to India permission in respect of Tibetans.

According to Praveen Sood, Additional Director General of Police (Computer Wing), the department has also launched a unique initiative, ‘Pavement Gateway’, which reduces time and energy in making payment for these services. The police department has signed a memorandum of understanding with the BangaloreOne and KarnatakaOne centres all over the State in this regard. The applicants can also pay fee through web portals. The Gateway helps citizen avoid going to treasury offices or banks for making payment.
