But still it is sad that the deputy commissioner is not giving permission for it,” they lamented.<br /><br />Zilla Panchayat members Shyamegowda, K R Kittappa, Srinivas, former presidents of taluk panchayat Raghupathi Reddy, C V Gopal and others were present at the meeting.<br /><br />Another meeting<br /><br />At another meeting in the taluk, leaders of Scheduled Castes in Mulbagal taluk also have demanded that the statue of Alangur Srinivas be installed. <br /><br />“Alangur is a popular leader and has given contributed in various ways for development of Mulbagal constituency. <br /><br />We are even ready to sacrifice our lives if permission is denied to install the statue in the taluk,” said SC community leaders Tayalur T R Shekhar, Maruthinagar D Somanna, Nethaji Vijikumar, Kavathanahalli Srinivas and others.<br /></p>
