Doctor's house burgled

Burglars have made away with gold valuables worth Rs 80,000 from a doctor’s house here on Sunday.

The incident has occurred at the residence of Dr G Srinivas on Housing Board road. He is working at primary health centre in  Kattemalalavadi village, Hunsur taluk in Mysore district.

Srinivas was living alone as his wife had gone her parents place for post-partum period. He left outside for dinner at around 8.30 pm. Incidentally, power went off. Police suspect that, taking undue advantage of the power cut, miscreants may have broken into the house with ease. They have decamped with the valuables after breaking open three almirahs. Srinivas who was shocked to find the articles ransacked on returning, informed police.

Dy SP Kala Krishnaswamy, circle police inspector Venkatesh, sub-inspector K Manju visited the spot along with a dog squad.

A case is registered.
