Police arrests former MLA for threatening government official

Former MLA Uma Shankar Munjare was arrested by the police today for allegedly threatening a tehsildar and destroying files and other official papers for not passing an order in a property case.

The former MLA from Paraswada constituency today went to the court of tehsildar G C Dehria along with his lawyer Hari Shankar Shrivastava in connection with a family property case.

Wwhen the official refused to pass an order in the matter as promised, Munjare got angry and abused the tehsildar on caste lines and tore files and other official papers lying on the table.

Dehria then filed a complaint in this regard in the Kotwali police station after which the police arrested Munjare under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the SC/ST Act.
