The contingent of 103 cadets, both boys and girls, representing the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate of Karnataka and Goa, was adjudged second best in the recently concluded Republic Day camp-2013 in New Delhi.

The contingent faced stiff competition from 16 other NCC directorates from all over the country.

The contingent won the All India Army Wing Trophy, secured the first position in the National Integration Awareness Program, the 3rd best Air Force cadet.

In addition, Naval cadets from the state won five silver and three bronze medals in the VIP ship modeling — a new concept ship modeling and radio controlled ship event.
Air Force cadets, meantime, bagged two bronze medals in the static aircraft model competition.

On their arrival in Bangalore on Thursday, the NCC cadets from the state were accorded a warm reception by the Deputy Director General NCC Directorate (Karnataka & Goa) Air Commodore C Rajeev and other officers and staff.

A “At Home” function to felicitate the cadets was organised at Raj Bhavan by the Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj who lauded their performance.
