All India Congress Committee general secretary B K Hariprasad on Sunday said the party will neither have pre-poll alliance nor any kind of understanding with any political party in the coming elections to the State Assembly.

Speaking to reporters here, he said there was no truth in the allegations being made by the BJP leaders that the Congress and the KJP have a tacit understanding.
“Such a situation will not arise for the Congress. The party will come to power on its own during the next polls in the State,” he stated.

He was speaking after inaugurating “Congerssge banni, badalavane tanni,” programme organised at Rajajinagar.

On another allegation that the party is conducting ‘Operation Hasta’ on the lines of BJP’s ‘Operation Kamala,’ he said there was no need for the Congress to conduct any operation. The party leaders are capable of bringing the party to power.

The BJP is spreading such canards against the Congress to mislead people. In reality, the BJP has an understanding with the JD(S), he charged.

Asked whether the party high command will give any responsibility to former chief minister S M Krishna, he said Krishna is a senior and will actively involve himself in all activities of the party both at the Centre and the State.

Earlier, addressing a gathering, he said the BJP government has failed on all fronts in the last five years. Programmes and projects implemented during this period were sponsored by the Centre. The State government lacked resources to fund any programme, he alleged.
