Cases have been booked against 285 autorickshaw drivers by the officers of the Legal Metrology department, during their recent drive against tampered meters.
A senior official from the department said 246 of the 285 cases have been disposed of and a fine of Rs 1.21 lakh had been collected from the defaulters. In remaining cases, action will be initiated as per the department rules, he added.
