'Don't field Amaresh in Assembly polls'

A team of taluk block Congress presidents, led by former president of the Kolar Zilla Panchayat Ashok Krishnappa, requested Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwar not to give ticket to legislator Amaresh for the coming Assembly polls.

The team of Congressmen visited the KPCC president in Bangalore on Thursday and handed a memorandum reminding the president that the legislator is facing several charges and requesting that Amaresh not be given a ticket for the elections.

They also supported the memorandum with records related to the allegations against the legislator, including the failure of the party to capture Mulbagal Town Municipal Council majority.

Parameshwar assured the team that he would bring the matter to the notice of the party high command and take necessary action.
