Central team to meet CM today

On Friday, these teams, will return to Bangalore, and meet Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to discuss on the loss estimated by the State Government.

The team is expected to submit its report to the Union Government in next four days.
A team led by Union Home Ministry Joint Secretary O Ravi toured the Koppal district on Thursday.

The team visited a few villages and the Hirehalla bridge and collected information regarding the loss incurred. The District Administration has submitted a report to the Central Team explaining that the Koppal district has incurred estimated loss Rs 1,000.44 crore due to unprecedented rains which lashed the district from last September 28 to October 4.

The second team led by Union Government's SRO Planning Commission's Chief Officer and central team chief R K Sharma toured some villages in Raichur district, and also inspected the Tungabhadra village, which had born the brunt of the unprecedented rains. The district administration has put the loss at Rs 3,000 crore.

Badly affected villages

Another team led by Union Rural Development Director Jeetendrakumar held a briefing by the district administration at Gadag. The team later visited some badly affected villages in Ron taluk of the district.

They visited Amargol, Basarkod, Holehadagali, Belire, and other villages. They also inspected some bridges in the taluk which were washed away in the recent floods.
Speaking to media persons, the team members stated that they were convinced that the recent rains and flood had caused large-scale destruction in the district.
