Court acquits maoist suspect Saroja

A maoist suspect Saroja who has been facing charges of involving in Maoist activities was acquitted of all charges against her. She was produced before the Kundapur court on Friday amid tight police security.

The court acquitted her in the last pending case against her. Earlier, of the 10 cases against her, she was absolved in nine cases, for lack of evidences. She was arrested by the Shimoga police from Soraba and was later handed over to the custody of the Udupi police in 2010 for the cases related to Amasebail and Shankernarayana police station limits.

At present, she has been lodged at Mangalore jail and there is one case pending for hearing in the Udupi Fast Track Court.
