JD(S) workers should provoke the minds of the people to exercise their votes judiciously in the May 5 Assembly elections, a leader has said.

JD(S) leader Y S V Datta said that the workers should ask the voters whether they would opt for a candidate solving their problems or the one doling out money, earned through illegal means, while exercising their franchise in the elections. He was addressing party workers meet as a part of preparations for the Assembly elections, at Sringeri Sharada Sabhabhavan in Kadur town on Monday.

He told the party workers to ask the voters whether they would like the person who has responded to the problems despite losing the election to win the election or someone who is bribing them.  “The JD(S) is an active and pro-people party. Voters of the constituency have sympathy for me for losing the elections twice. But, I never sat silent despite the loss.

I have visited 400 villages of the constituency at least five times. Some places, I have visited  25 times. The party workers should work unitedly with confidence to win the election,” he said.On the formation of party workers committee, he said the committee with 50  workers in 236 booths of the constituency will be formed within two or three days. Let the leaders take up the work in booths. The first phase of the campaigning will begin on Friday or Saturday even before the announcement of the candidates, Datta announced.

Kadur Town Municipal Councillor Somaiah, Zilla Panchayat member B P Nagaraj, party leader Bhandary Srinivas and others were present.
