Action against model code violation

Circle Inspector R Ramesh has said that stringent action will be initiated against the violators of model code of conduct.

Speaking at a peace meeting which was attended by members of various political parties, and organisations here on Tuesday, he said that the police have increased night beat system. The political parties should take permission for the use of vehicles for election campaign. The permission letter should be displayed on the vehicles. All the public rallies and meetings should be completed within the time period.

On surrendering guns during elections, Jagadish said that the Election Commission should review its decision on the same. Coffee Growers possess guns in Malnad for self-protection. The growers should be given the freedom to keep guns with themselves.
