Karnataka eves clinch South Zone U-19 championship

Batting first, President’s XI were dismissed for 153 in 64.2 overs after Raunak Shah scalped four for 47. Bangalore then moved to a position of strength, reaching 147 for one in 26 overs at stumps. Saif and Bharath remained unbeaten on 76 and 52 respectively.

Hat-trick for Karnataka

Karnataka clinched the women’s under-19 South Zone inter-State championship for the third consecutive time in overwhelming fashion, remaining unbeaten throughout the six-team tournament in Hyderabad.

Veda Krishnamurthy turned out to be the star performer for the champions, picking up nine wickets including a five-wicket haul against Goa. She also starred with the bat, notching up an unbeaten 71 against hosts Hyderabad. Veda also had scores of 44 not out, 41 and 33 not out in other league matches.

Huge win for Falcon

Riding on a strong all-round show, Falcon Sports Club registered a thumping eight-wicket win over RK Cricket Academy in the KSCA women’s league tournament.

Batting first, RK Cricket Academy were restricted to 86 for seven in 28 overs with Sunitha and Atmaja picking up two wickets apiece.

Falcon then chased down the target in 10.3 overs.
