J&K BJP to launch campaign against govt

Last Updated 29 March 2013, 20:09 IST

Alleging that the Jammu and Kashmir government has failed on all fronts, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday announced a campaign to expose the anti-people and pro-separatist coalition government.

The BJP announced the campaign Gram Chalo-Ghar Chalo Abhiyaan at mandal level.
BJP state president Jugal Kishore Sharma attacked chief minister Omar Abdullah for his remarks over the accession of the state to Indian in the state Assembly.

“This government, by talking on the pre-1953 status and raising questions on the integration of state with India is only misleading the masses,” he said.

“Public has lost faith in this government and BJP is going to Janta Darbar to expose this coalition through mandal level programmes,” he said.

Powers with govt

Omar had told Legislative Assembly earlier this week that those who repeatedly claim that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India forget that the accession was only on three subjects of communication-currency, defence and foreign affairs, and rest powers were vested with the state, which was gradually eroded.

Sharma said National Conference-Congress coalition government has “failed on all fronts” and is making repeated attempts to escape the public wrath in the current session of the Assembly.
