The HAL, in a release, said it would not speculate on the causes of the Dhruv crash based on media reports. The incident had immediately prompted the Ecuadorian Air Force to ground six other choppers, manufactured and supplied by the HAL. Meanwhile, a team from the aviation major, which is already stationed in Ecuador, is providing maintenance support and assisting the Ecuadorian Air Force in the investigations.

The HAL also said Ecuadorian pilots had undergone extensive training on Dhruv, the advanced light helicopter (ALH) at HAL's facilities and expressed happiness with its handling qualities and they had logged 860 hours.
