Last Updated 27 May 2013, 21:16 IST

Delhi Police arrested another bookie on Monday for alleged link with Rajasthan Royals cricketer Ajit Chandila and involvement in the Indian Premiere League spot fixing case, DHNS reports from New Delhi.

Bhupinder was arrested from Greater Noida late on Monday.

With his arrest, the total number of arrests made by Delhi Police has increased to 20.
A source said Bhupinder is said to be a fixer, who was in close touch with Ajit. Besides, it is also suspected that he was in the fourth group of bookies who were in touch with Ajit.

"It is being examined whether Bhupinder gave money to Ajit or not," said the source.
Police said they have strong evidence against Bhupinder, and have established his link with Ajit.

Call data records of Ajit had linked the two, but Bhupinder had been evading the net by continuously changing his hideouts and phone numbers. Police are trying to establish the trail of Rs 70 lakh paid to Ajit by several bookies.
