Two women and a child on the way to Savadatti Yallamma temple were killed while 20 others injured after a maxi cab in which they were traveling fell into a gorge on the outskirts of Ramdurg town on Friday.
Police said, pilgrims from one family from Mindgeri village in Jat taluk from Sangli district were travelling in a maxi cab to Savadatti Yallamma. The vehicle fell into the gorge while crossing the Mullur Ghat at Ramdurg.
Malan Bhimrao Sanadi, 55, died on the spot, while Bharati Chandanshi, 45, died on the way to district hospital. Abhijit Sanadi, 11, succumbed to injuries during treatment at the hospital.
