Colourful events mark Rajyotsava celebrations


Kannada Gelayara Balaga garlanded the statues of Ferdinand Kittel on M G Road, Tinamshree statue at South End Circle and “Rashtra Kavi” Kuvempu statue.

The organisation has also  collected Rs 50,800 towards flood relief. The amount will be distributed to three Kannada organisations in Raichur,  currently engaged in relief work.   
Speaking after his felicitation by the Akhila Karnataka Catholic Christian Kannada Sangha on the occasion of Rajyotsava at Coles Park here on Sunday, Father Amritraj stressed on the need to create what he called 'linguistic solidarity' among sections speaking different languages.

The Sangha's efforts towards increasing the usage of Kannada in churches were lauded by the priest.
