Addressing a protest outside Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday staged by Dakshina Kannada District Youth Congress Committee against failures of state government, he said Dr V S Acharya had promised to establish Police Commissionerate in Mangalore on August 15, 2009, which was not fulfiled.
Later he said that it will be done during November 1 but even this time he could not stick to his promise.

“This kind of meek person who makes false promises that he cannot fulfil must step down from such a responsible position immediately. Governor must intervene and do the needful to restore the confidence of the people of Karnataka,” he added.
He said that the inside truth of the so called ‘disciplined party’ has come out in open now with the on going street fights of the party members.
“It is an anti-people party. The party which came to power in the name of farmers opened fire at the farmers who asked for fertiliser and seeds. The tears of the farmers are touching the CM as he has been struggling to keep his position intact,” D’Souza said.
The protest was staged to further demand the state government to take steps to provide adequate supply of electricity.
The protesters said that Mescom has been working in a lethargic manner after BJP came to power and demanded Mescom to provide candles to the customers along with the electricity bills.

Congress leaders Moiddin Bava, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, Shashidhar Hegde among others were present on the occasion.
