In National Basketball Association’s continued effort to spread the sport in India, the world’s best basketball league has roped in Miami Heat star Chris Bosh to make a trip to the country next month.

An essential part of the ‘Big Three’ in Miami -- LeBron James and Dwayne Wade being the other two in the star triumvirate -- Bosh is currently clocking in some serious minutes on court in an effort to help his side retain the championship. The Heat are tied 2-2 against San Antonio Spurs in the best-of-seven game Finals.

In Mumbai, Bosh is expected to conduct an elite development camp for members of the Indian national team, while further pursuing his interest in philanthropy as part of the NBA Cares project in association with local NGO Magic Bus. Apart from that the 6’11’’ centre/ forward will also interact with fans who will be chosen online.

The 29-year-old former Toronto Raptors product is the latest NBA star brought in to try and spike the interest in the sport after the likes of Los Angeles Lakers’ Dwight Howard and Utah Jazz’s Raja Bell.
