JOIN US'Provide facilities to MGM hospital'
Lack of facilities at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, poor condition of roads and drive to clear encroachment of forest land dominated the public grievances meeting chaired by MLA B B Ningaiah, on Friday.
The public urged the MLA to solve problems haunting the government Hospital in Mudigere.
Town panchayat member Poornima Mallya said the hospital does not have doctors and lacks facilities.
LIC’s Ashok Shetty said the hospital needs to be upgraded and requires blood bank and dialysis centre. The hospital lacks gynaecologist, paediatrician, physicians. The government should take measures to fill the vacancies.
The public said the main roads in Mudigere is in deplorable condition. K M Road should be widened. Hoysala stadium should be repaired. Adyantaya ranga mandira has become centre for immoral activities. The work on bus shelter should be accelerated.
They said “though the work on bus shelter commenced eight months ago, it is moving in a snail’s pace. There is a need for bus shelters in the town.”
Raitha Sangha members Duggappa Gowda said “the move of the forest department to clear encroached forest land will harm the farmers. The officials should not clear the encroached land till they complete the work on classification of forest and revenue land.”
Taluk panchayat president M A Sheshagiri said Mudigere needs a government diploma college.
The public also expressed their displeasure over erratic power supply in the taluk.
Responding to the problems, MLA said that the problem will be discussed in the officials meeting on Saturday.
Taluk panchayat vice president Suma Ramesh, ZP member V K Shive Gowda, M S Ananth and others were present.
