Unhappy Sharad Yadav reconciles to decision

The decision of quitting National Democratic Alliance(NDA) made Janata Dal-United (JD-U) president Sharad Yadav unhappy. However, his camp, of late, seems to have reconciled to this fact and has decided to fully back the decision.

“It is true that the decision is not good. But now that the decision has been implemented, there is no point looking back. We have to think of emerging equations,” said a senior JD-U leader and close confidant of Sharad Yadav.

Yadav has all along been maintained that the JD-U should continue its alliance with the BJP. He was in favour of postponing the decision and also tried to work out some formula which should sustain the alliance. Yadav, as NDA convener, has very good equations with BJP leaders. He wanted them to ensure from their side that they would not project Narendra Modi as the prime minister. But they expressed their inability to give such assurance and yadav’s effort were dashed.

His own party men, too, did not pay any heed to his advice of maintaining restrain. Statements from leaders, including Shivnand Tiwari, were harsh enough and were indicative that parting away was imminent. However, according to JD-U sources, the senior leader has reconciled to the new situation.

“He will now coordinate efforts aimed at forging an alliance with like minded parties for Lok Sabha elections. He could not make a full-hearted effort when he was a convenor of the NDA. He was duty-bound to defend the NDA as its convenor. Now all of us are free and can talk to different political parties freely. Every decision has both negative and positive outcome,” said  a JD-U source. A reconciled Yadav has decided to stay in Patna till Wednesday.
